DENTON, Texas – A rough second half shooting performance doomed Southeastern in a 65-63 road, conference loss to Texas Woman’s on Wednesday night in Denton, Texas.

The Savage Storm slipped to 19-7 on the season and 9-4 in Lone Star Conference North division play and will finish the regular season by hosting Central Oklahoma at 6 p.m. on Feb. 27.

The game truly was a tale of two halves, with SE cruising in the first half, shooting 53.1 percent from the field, including a 5-of-7 mark from three.

The second half, however, looked like another team on the floor as the Storm were just 27.3 percent from the field, including a 1-of-5 mark from behind the arc.

SE out-rebounded the Pioneers by a whopping 49-to-28 margin, including nearly doubling them on the offensive glass.

Elizabeth Dean led the Storm with 16 points off the bench, and was joined by three others in double figures as Nikki Nester added 13 points and Destiny Brown and Jessica Hesse each chipped in 11.

Brown completed the double-double with a game-high 15 rebounds, while all nine players that played scored and pulled sown a rebound.

Nester paced the club with five assists.

SE fell behind early, trailing 16-7, but reeled off a 17-0 run to turn things in the Storm’s favor at 24-16 with 8:50 to play in the half.

The lead would expand to 19 points before settling on a 43-26 advantage at the intermission.

The Storm maintained a double-figure lead until the 6:36 mark and led by seven at the final media timeout before TWU finished on an 11-2 run to hand SE a 65-63 loss.
