Women's Hoops adds English for 2010-11

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern head women’s basketball coach Darin Grover has announced the addition of Anadarko, Okla., native Ronay English to the Savage Storm roster for the 2010-11 season.

English comes to SE after earning OCA, OGBCA and Daily Oklahoman All-State honors for class 4A Anadarko High School.

“Ronay is one of the best senior guards in state of Oklahoma this year,” said Grover, “She is a versatile player that has great skills and can really shoot the three. I believe she will be able to play any of the guard positions for us.”

English averaged 15 ppg during her senior season in 2009-10, and pulling down 68 rebounds, while dishing out 110 assists and chipping in 91 steals.

That was on the heels of her junior season in which she posted a 17.9 ppg scoring average, while posting 123 rebounds, 120 assists and 88 steals.

As a sophomore she turned in a 12.1 ppg average, while grabbing 112 rebounds, dishing out 84 assists and swiping 62 steals.

“Ronay comes from a perennial power at Anadarko,” continued Grover, “Where she played for two very good coaches during her career. We are really excited about having her as part of our program.”
