Heath Wyatt was named first team All-American by Daktronics.DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern relief pitcher Heath Wyatt has been named First Team All-America by Daktronics.
Wyatt honor marks the third-straight year the Savage Storm have had an All-American honoree, joining Reece Dodd in 2009 and Randall Clay in 2008. His becomes the 66th All-American honor in SE history.
Wyatt, a junior from Searcy, Ark., has also been named earned first team all-South Central Region by Daktronics and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and was a second team all-region pick by the American Baseball Coaches Association
He is the Lone Star Conference and co-national leader in saves on the year with 15 and compiled a 7-6 record on the year with a 3.17 ERA.
Wyatt made a school record 33 appearances and tossed a team-high 76.2 innings on the year.
He held opponents to a .232 batting average and just 15 extra-base hits on the year while allowing 27 earned runs.
Wyatt combined with Jimmy Johnson on a pair of shutouts and struck out a team-high 61 against just 18 walks.
