SE FALLS HARD AT NSU

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Southeastern was plagued by its worst shooting performance of the season as Northeastern State took advantage and handed the Savage Storm its worst loss of the year, 77-43, on Wednesday night in Tahlequah, Okla.

SE will be back on the court on Sunday, Jan. 24, when it hosts Texas A&M-Commerce at 2 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Southeastern’s offensive troubles permeated the entire game as the Storm shot 28.0 percent for the night, including 16.7 percent from behind the arc.

No SE player cracked double figures, the first time that has happened since Dec. 30, 2006.  Kacey Russell finished with a team-best nine points, while Ashley Hobbs and Elizabeth Dean finished with eight each.

Destiny Brown led the Storm on the glass, pulling down eight rebounds.

Bailey Welch led SE in assists with four, as the squad had 11 assists total.

NSU opened the game with a 10-0 run and never looked back, taking a 41-22 lead to the locker room at halftime.

The second half was no kinder to the Storm as they were outscored, 36-21, to fashion the final of 77-43.
