DURANT, Okla. - Missouri Western State's Brittany Douglas made her sixth home run of the season count, connecting on a two-run shot to break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 10th inning to propel the Griffons to a 3-1 win over Central Missouri in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon in Durant, Okla.
Douglas was 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI, while Keri Franks also pitched in a two-hit outing and Tyann Williamson added an RBI.
Allison Jones went the distance in the circle for MWSU, tossing 10.0 innings and allowing a run on five hits with six strikeouts.
For the Jennies, Megan Leonard struck out 11 hitters and allowed the three runs on 10 hits in 9.1 innings pitched.
Five different UCM players tallied hits, with Kelli Kurka's solo home run in the first inning standing as the Jennies' lone run.
Missouri Western State now advances to face Abilene Christian in the final game on Saturday, while Central Missouri has been eliminated.
