MWSU 11, ACU 2

DURANT, Okla. - Missouri Western recovered from an early 2-0 deficit against Abilene Christian, scoring 11 unanswered runs to eliminate the Wildcats from South Central Regional play behind an 11-2 win on Saturday evening in the loser's bracket final.

Missouri Western will now advance to face Southeastern in the championship, having to knock off the Savage Storm twice to advance to the Super Regional.  ACU has been eliminated.

The Griffons pounded out 14 hits and had five different hitters collect multi-hit outings, led by Brittany Douglas who was 4-for-5 with a home run, a triple and three RBI.

Jonelle Belger picked up the win in relief for MWSU, tossing 6.0 innings and allowing just two hits with a strikeout.

Allison Jones got the start and threw just one inning, allowing a pair of so home runs, facing just five batters.

For ACU, Jessica Shiery turned in a 2-for-2 outing including a solo homer, while Melissa Rodriguez added a solo shot of her own.

Kim Partin took the loss for the Wildcats, tossing 6.1 innings and allowing eight runs, six earned, on 12 hits.  Kim White recorded 0.2 innings pitched, allowing three runs, two earned, on two hits.
