Southeastern Opens GAC Play on the Road

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will be looking to open the Great American Conference schedule with a pair of wins as it heads to Arkadelphia, Ark., to face Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1, respectively.
 
The 1-3 Savage Storm will face HSU at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and follow up with a 2 p.m. matchup with OBU on Saturday.
 
SE comes into the weekend averaging 73.5 points per game and is paced by a trio of players averaging in double-figures.
 
Bailey Welch leads the way with 12.3 ppg and is coming off her best performance of the year with 19 points in a narrow loss at Texas A&M-Commerce.
 
She is joined in double-digits by Ronay English who is posting 11.3 ppg and Haley Schaefer at 10.8.
 
Schaefer leads the team on the boards with 6.8 rebounds per outing, while Emily Williams is right behind at 6.0 rpg.
 
Taylor Richards leads the team in assists with 4.1 assists per outing, while Williams is adding 3.0 apg.
 
The Reddies come into the contest on Thursday with a 2-1 record after a pair of blowout wins over LeTourneau and LeMoyne-Owen.
 
HSU is led by Shareka Miller who is averaging 16.7 ppg on the year and is joined in double-digits by Destiny Smith at 15.3 ppg and Krystal Beachum at 14.0ppg.
 
Miller is averaging a double-double on the year with 13.0 rebounds per outing to go with her team-best point mark.
 
The Tigers head into the weekend with a 2-1 record as well following a blowout win over Stillman College.
 
OBU is led by a trio of double-digit scorers with Monica Williams pacing the squad at 14.7 ppg, while Nashia James is at 12.7 ppg and Kendra Coyle is adding 10.7 ppg.
 
Elise Holman leads the team on the boards to the tune of 7.3 rebounds per game.
