DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will be looking to get back in the win column after seeing its five-game winning streak come to an end when it hosts Southern Nazarene at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 9-5 record overall and a 5-3 mark in Great American Conference play which is currently tied for third, one game behind the top spot.
SE had put together a five-game winning streak and climbed to the top of the league standings before suffering back-to-back road losses at Southwestern Oklahoma State and Northwestern Oklahoma State.
SNU comes into the weekend with a 9-6 record overall, a 4-5 league mark and has won two-straight, with the last being an 83-68 win at East Central.
Southeastern will continue to lean on
Chris Roussell who leada a trio of double-digit scorers on the year. Roussell is averaging 15.9 ppg, while
Steven Kohli is at 12.2 ppg and
Mateus Oliveira is averaging 10.1 ppg.
That same trio leads the rebounding numbers for the Storm as well, with Roussell pulling down 7.6 rpg to hold a slight lead over Oliveira who is at 7.3 per game. Kohli is next in line at 6.6 rebounds per outing.
Travis Timmons leads the team and the GAC in assists, dishing out 7.0 assists per game which is also good for fifth in the nation.
SNU has a foursome of double-digit scorers led by the 19.1 ppg average of Ryan Aaron, while Quan Conner is next at 14.7.
Tyrone Lyons and Brady Burford lead the rebounding effort with 7.6 rpg and 7.2 rpg, respectively.
Conner leads the team in assists and is averaging 5.1 assists per contest.
