Box Score MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southeastern shot 48.9 percent from the field and got 27 points from
Chris Roussell en route to a 72-66 road win over Southern Arkansas on Saturday evening in Magnolia, Ark.
The win lifted SE to 12-9 overall on the year and 8-7 in Great American Conference play.
Roussell scored 27 points for the second time in the last three games and scored the 20-point plateau for the fifth time this season. He finished the night 9-of-17 from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range.
Steven Kohli turned in a double-double on the night with 11 points and 13 rebounds, while
Quinton Threadgill turned in 14 points and led the way with five assists.
SAU held the edge in points off turnovers and second chance points, but SE got the better in the paint by a 22-14 margin.
The Storm scored first, but the Muleriders answered with five-straight points to take the lead which they would hold onto till the 7:28 mark of the first half when Threadgill put SE in front 13-12.
Southeastern would lead by as many as five points before SAU whittled the lead down to 28-28 at halftime.
The Muleriders opened with a 4-0 run to take a lead, but SE responded and pushed its advantage back to five points early.
SAU would again fight it back to a tie and the teams would trade four ties before the Muleriders would reel off an 8-0 run to take its biggest lead of the night.
The Storm answered with a 16-0 run to turned the tide of the contest and turning its eight point deficit into an eight point lead with 4:16 to play.
The Muleriders would close to as close as our points before SE settled on the 72-66 win.
