Box Score DURANT, Okla. – Emily Williams turned in a game-high 27 points to power Southeastern to a 67-63 victory over Arkansas Tech on Sunday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 10-6 on the year overall and 7-3 in Great American Conference play.  It also marks the first regular season win over the Golden Suns since the league launched in 2011.

Williams was one point shy of matching her season high scoring mark and was 6-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-6 from long range, while finishing out her night at 12-of-15 from the free throw line.

She was joined in double-figures by Haley Schaefer and Natalie Ruud who each turned in 12 points.

Schaefer also turned in her fifth double-double of the year with 15 rebounds.

The Storm, however, were actually outrebounded 41-to-39 on the night as a team.

Kaylie Baxter dished out a team-high three assists to go with seven points and five rebounds.

SE held a 15-12 edge in second-chance points, while ATU outscored the Storm 18-13 off turnovers and 22-14 in the paint.

The Storm jumped out to a 9-2 lead early thanks to the tandem scoring of Williams and Schaefer.

SE would later push its lead out to 10 points on a Schaefer layup with 12:56 to go in the half.

That lead would grow as large as 15 in the first half, but the Suns would outscore SE 17-6 over the final eight minutes to cut the Storm halftime lead to 38-34.

Southeastern continued to maintain its lead, growing the advantage back to double-digits at 54-43 after a pair of Schaefer free throws with 11:25 to play.

ATU, however, would rally and use a 14-3 run to tie the game with 6:18 to play.

After two more ties, the Suns would take their first lead of the game at 63-61, but a Williams three with 54 seconds to play would put SE back in front for good.

Williams would add three more field goals in the final minute and Southeastern would hold on for the 67-63 win.
