Box Score NORMAN, Okla. – Southeastern started strong early, but a late-first half run by Oklahoma would open up a 20-point halftime deficit as the Savage Storm would ultimately fall 106-59 in Norma, Okla., on Wednesday night.

The loss to OU is the only exhibition contest for SE this season with the season opener coming up on Nov. 14 at noon against Central Oklahoma in Tahlequah, Okla., as part of the MIAA/GAC Crossover.

The Storm got a team-high 16 points from Emily Williams who was 4-of-12 form the floor and 7-of-8 at the free throw line.

Shelby Hill added nine points, all from behind the three point line, while Cheree Kiser chipped in eight and Miranda Schaefer seven.

In all, 10 SE players got on the scoreboard.

Madison Thames, Taylor Richards and Schaefer each had four rebounds to lead the Storm who were out-rebounded 64-to-29.

Four different players each recorded a pair of assists as SE finished with 11 as a team.

The Sooners opened with the first five points of the game, but Williams broke through for the Storm with a layup at the 17:49 mark.

She would later add a free throw and another layup to close the gap to 7-5 at the 15:41 mark of the first half.

OU would hit a bucket, but Baxter would drain a three in response to get the Storm to within one at 9-8 with 14:25 to go in the half.

Just over a minute later Kiser would hit a layup and give the Storm a lead at 10-9 with 13:15 to go.

However, the Sooners would answer with an 8-0 run to mount a 17-10 lead.

A Rachel Wallace layup would end that run, but OU would continue to build on its lead, stretching it to 20 points with 2:21 to play in the half.

A pair of Baxter free throws followed by a Shelby Hill three would close the gap to 41-26 at the 1:29 mark, but OU would score the final five points of the half and take a 46-26 lead at the break.

Williams posted seven first half points to lead SE, with Hill right behind at six on a pair of threes.

Thames hauled in three rebounds to lead the way in the first half and five different players each dished out an assist.

Southeastern would chip away at the deficit early in the second half, cutting it to 17 points on a Kiser layup.
Â
OU would answer and extend it to 23 before another SE run trimmed the gap back to 18 points.
That was as close as the game would get from then on as the Sooner opened up the deficit with a 23-4 run and would pull away from there to hand SE the 106-59 loss.
