DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will aim to build on the momentum from its huge upset victory over Division I Tulsa when it jumps back into conference play to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The Savage Storm come into the matchup at 5-6 overall on the season and 1-2 in Great American Conference play, but including its win over TU the team is 4-1 in its last five games.

The Storm held a lead of as many as 19 in the second half against the Golden Hurricane and held off a furious rally, including watching a desperation three rattle in-and-out of the bucket at the buzzer to maintain the 69-66 win and down a DI opponent for the first time since joining the NCAA as a member of the Division II classification in 1996.

The same trio that led SE in its win over Tulsa, continue to pace the offensive effort for the season.

Danny Powell is averaging 16.7 ppg while shooting 56.9 percent from the field, while
Sami Bzai is adding 13.5 ppg and
Taylor Smaller is at 13.4 ppg.

SE holds a 76.4-to-72.8 edge in scoring against its foes, and is shooting 47.1 percent from the field

Bzai is dishing out a team-high 3.3 assists per game, while Smaller is right behind at 3.2 per contest.

Darius Harris paces the club on the glass with 9.2 rebounds per contest, while the Storm hold a 39.9-to-36.5 edge in rebounding per game as a team.

The defense is also bolstered by the shot blocking efforts of
Antonio Worthy and Harris who have combined for 38 blocked shots on the year, paced by the 25 of Worthy's.

NWOSU comes into the weekend with a 2-6 record overall and a 1-1 mark in GAC play, but have lost two in-a-row since picking up that first conference win.

T'aries Taylor leads the club with 13.6 ppg, while Adrian Motley is not far behind and 12.1 ppg and Darrian Dempsey is averaging 10.9 per outing.

Motley also leads the team in rebounds at 7.5 per game, while Brandon Green is dishing out a team-high 2.6 assists per contest.
