DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will hit the road for a rare Monday trip to Arkansas to take on Arkansas Tech Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in a game rescheduled from December due to weather.
The Savage Storm head into the contest at 13-10 on the season and 10-7 in Great American Conference play, but have dropped two straight games and currently sit fifth in the league standings.
The Golden Suns enter the game second in the league standings at 15-8 overall and 11-6 in GAC play, having won seven-straight since the teams met the last weekend in January.
Southeastern came out victorious in that matchup in Durant, winning 67-63.
The Storm scored the last six points in that game to pick up the win and were paced by
Emily Williams who turned in a game-high 27 points.
Haley Schaefer turned in a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds, while
Natalie Ruud came off the bench and added 12 points of her own.
Williams also paces the team offensively for the year, averaging 15.5 ppg, while
Breana Small-Peppers, who turned in 13 points in her return to the lineup on Saturday, is averaging 11.8 ppg. Schaefer is right behind her at 10.9 per outing.
Small-Peppers leads the team in rebounds with 7.7 per game, while Williams is right on her heels at 7.5 per contest.
ATU is led on the year by Cara Neighbors who averages 13.2 ppg and leads a foursome of double-digit scorers that also include Anissa Pounds, Jacinda Myers-Sander and Carolyn Eubanks.
Eubanks and Myers-Sander also pace the team in rebounds with 7.5 and 7.0 per game, respectively.
