Storm Men Ready for Rival Tigers

DURANT, Okla. – Heading into the final week of the regular season, Southeastern has two games to get a leg up in the race for the final spot in the Great American Conference Tournament, and that begins with a 7:30 p.m. matchup at rival East Central on Feb. 27 in Ada, Okla.
 
The Savage Storm come into the matchup 8-16 overall on the year and 5-13 in GAC play which locks them in a tie for the final playoff spot with Ouachita Baptist.
 
SE faced the Tigers on Jan. 22 in Durant, with ECU pulling out a 64-59 win.
 
Taylor Smaller led the Storm scoring in that contest with 14 points, while Urald King turned in a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
 
King is the team's leading scorer for the season, averaging 16.9 ppg on the year and nearly posting double-double averages with a team-best 9.3 rebounds per outing.
 
Smaller and John Balwigaire join him in double-figure scoring averages with 11.4 and 10.5 ppg, respectively.
 
Smaller also leads the team in assists with 4.1 per game.
 
The Tigers enter the Thursday matchup with a 14-10 mark overall and an 11-7 record in league play, but are in the midst of a three-game losing skid.
 
They are also led by a trio of double-digit scorers, with Colby Carr leading that group with 14.3 ppg, while Brandon Lucas is next up at 12.2 and A.J. Moutry right behind at 11.2
 
Henry Pwono leads the way on the glass with 5.9 rebounds per game, while Chris Fisher leads the team in assists with 3.0 per game.
