Savage Storm Hosts UAM, SAU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will look to take advantage of the home court advantage when it welcomes Arkansas-Monticello at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 as well as when it hosts Southern Arkansas on Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 5-12 mark overall on the year and a 3-9 Great American Conference record.  SE is currently a half-game behind Ouachita Baptist for the final spot in the 2014 GAC Tournament.
 
Urald King continues to pace the club with 15.7 ppg on the offensive end and 9.5 rebounds per game on the defensive side.
 
Taylor Smaller and John Balwigaire are each adding 10.8 ppg, while two others are averaging eight points per outing or more.
 
Smaller also leads the team in assists at 3.6 per game.
 
SE dropped its meetings with these teams on the road to open the 2014 new year, falling to SAU 76-63 and UAM 65-57 for the team's first GAC losses of the year.
 
King turned in 18 points and nine rebounds in the game against the Muleriders, and followed up with a 16 point effort against the Boll Weevils.
 
UAM enters the contest on Thursday with a 15-6 record and an 8-5 mark in league play, which includes a current three-game winning streak.
 
Brandon Wilson leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 18.1 ppg and 7.8 rebounds.
 
SAU enters the weekend at 9-10 on the season with a 5-8 mark in GAC contests and has lost its last two outings.
 
Jeffrey Walker leads a total of five players averaging in double-figures with 15.2 ppg, while Alre'k Brown paces the club in rebounds at 8.0 per outing.
