SE Set for ATU, OBU Road Swing

DURANT, Okla. – Following a stretch of six-straight home games, Southeastern will now hit the road for the first two stops on a three-game conference road swing beginning with a 5:30 p.m. matchup with No. 15 Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Ark., on Jan. 15 with a 1 p.m. game on Jan. 17 with Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Ark. to follow.
 
The Savage Storm come into the road trip at 12-3 overall on the season and 5-2 in Great American Conference play and will face two of the three teams currently ahead of them in the league standings with Thursday's contest at ATU and the third game of the road swing on Jan. 22 at East Central.
 
SE is coming off a 76-67 loss to then-No. 22 Harding in its last contest, a loss that snapped a three-game winning streak.
 
Southeastern is paced on offense by the 17.1 ppg average of Emily Williams which ranks fifth in the conference.
 
She is also ranked fifth in assists at 3.1 per game and sixth in rebounding with 7.5 per outing, all of which lead SE.
 
Williams and HU's Arielle Saunders are the only two players in the conference ranked in the top-10 in points, rebounds and assists.
 
She is joined in double-figures by Olivia Potter who is averaging 11.0 ppg and leads the conference in three-pointers made per game at 3.3 and is third in three-point field goal percentage at 46.3 percent, making 50-of-108.
 
Kaylie Baxter has added 8.3 ppg and Shelby Hill is right behind at 7.9 per contest.
 
The Storm as a team leads the conference in three-point shooting at 38.6 percent and is averaging just over 10 three point makes per game.
 
The Golden Suns enter Thursday's game at 12-1 overall and 7-0 in league play and coming off an 87-44 win over Southern Nazarene.
 
ATU is led in scoring and rebounding by Fatima Adams who is putting up 20.9 ppg and 9.3 rpg.
 
She is joined in double figures on offense by Anissa Pounds at 12.2 ppg and Katrina Hayden at 11.8.
 
Hayden leads the team in assists with 3.8 per game.
 
OBU enters the weekend with a 5-9 record overall and a 1-5 mark in GAC play, but are coming off a 71-59 upset win over ECU for its first league victory.
 
Katie Kapler and Breanna Harris lead the team on offense with 11.8 and 11.3 ppg, respectively.
 
Kapler also leads the way in re bounds at 7.1 per contest, while Katherine West is dishing out a team-high 3.0 assists per game.
