RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. –
Danny Powell turned in a season-high 26 points and Southeastern shot 54.2 percent from the floor en route to a 74-63 win over Arkansas Tech on Thursday night in Russellville, Ark.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 8-8 overall and 4-4 in Great American Conference play. They have won back-to-back games and five of their last seven heading into Saturday afternoon's 1 p.m. matchup at conference-leading Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Powell finished 8-of-13 from the floor, including a 4-of-5 mark from three-point range, along with a 6-of-6 mark at the free throw line to tally his 26 points, despite fouling out with 4:28 to play. It is his fourth 20-plus point game of the season.

He was joined by
Taylor Smaller who also hit four threes and finished with 20- points on the night, his third 20-point game of the year.

Darius Harris finished with 13, but finished with a double-double by turning in a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Storm shot 50.0percent in the first half, including six threes, and improved in the second 20 minutes by hitting 12-of-20 from the field for a 60 percent effort.

Harris' 13 boards led SE to a 39-to-26 edge on the glass.

Smaller added three assists to lead the Storm in that category, while on defense
Trevor Jackson added three blocked shots.

The Wonder Boys would score first and the team would trade buckets to a 6-5 ATU advantage.

A Harris layup and a Smaller three would put the Storm in front and that lead would stretch to as many as eight points when a
Kyle Roberts layup put SE up 23-15.

After a three-and-a-half minute drought for both teams ATU would put together a 9-0 run to take a 24-23 lead with 5:50 to go.

Just 12 seconds later Southeastern would take the lead and never trail in the game again thanks to a Smaller three to take a 26-24 lead.

The Wonder Boys would twice tie the score over the final five minutes, but the Storm would outscore the home team 10-5 over the final 3:06 to take a 39-34 lead into the half.

SE opened the second half on a 10-2 run capped by a Harris layup to open up a 49-36 lead early.

Midway through the half the Storm would gain its largest lead of the night when a Powell three put SE up 64-48 with 9:13 to play.

ATU would put together one last run, outscoring SE 13-4 to cut the advantage to 68-61 with 2:17 to play.

Smaller would answer with a 4-for-4 effort from the free throw line on consecutive possessions to push the lead back to double-figures with 1:51 to play.

In all, the Storm finished 6-of-6 at the line while the Wonder Boys hit just one bucket in the final two minutes and SE finished off a 74-63 win.
