DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will shake off a three week layoff when it welcomes Southwestern Oklahoma State to Bloomer Sullivan Arena for a 3 p.m. contest on Jan. 3 that opens the 2015 portion of the season.

The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 6-6 record and a 2-2 mark in Great American Conference play.

SE finished the 2014 portion of the schedule with a 70-67 overtime win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Dec. 13 which was the team's third-straight victory after prior wins at Southern Nazarene and Tulsa.

Southeastern is led by a trio of double-digit scorers paced by
Danny Powell who is turning in 16.8 ppg on the season with three 20-plus point outings on the year.

He is joined by
Taylor Smaller at 13.8 ppg and
Sami Bzai at 13.0.

Smaller leads the team in assists with 3.2 per game while two others have more than 30 each on the year.

Darius Harris leads the way on the glass with 9.3 rebounds per contest while Powell is at 7.5 per outing.

The Storm is outscoring their opponents 75.8-to-72.3 on the year and shooting 46.7 percent from the field as a team, as well as holding a 39.8-to-36.4 rebounds per contest advantage.

SWOSU comes to town with a 7-4 record overall and a 1-3 mark in GAC play.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 77-67 win over USAO which followed back-to-back conference losses.

Martell Collins leads the team in scoring with 17.7 ppg, while Trent Washington is adding 12.2 per contest and Kenyan Borders is at 10.7.

Collins also leads the way on the boards with 8.4 per game, while Borders leads the team in assists with just over two per outing.
