SE Aims to Even Record at NWOSU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will set out to even its record on the season when it travels to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Okla., at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
 
The Savage Storm enter Thursday's matchup with a 9-10 record overall and a 5-6 mark in Great American Conference play which leaves them in a three-way tie for fifth in the league standings.
 
SE is coming off a win over Southern Nazarene and will be aiming for a season sweep of the Rangers thanks to a 70-67 win in overtime in Durant on Dec. 13.
 
The Storm offense is led by a trio of double digit scorers in Danny Powell at 15.7 ppg, followed by Taylor Smaller at 14.9 and Sami Bzai at 10.7.
 
Powell's point average is seventh best in the league, while Smaller is 10th and Bzai is 25th.
 
 
Darius Harris narrowly misses making that number four at 9.7 ppg, but is second in the GAC in rebounding with 8.7 rpg.
 
In addition, Smaller is averaging 3.5 assists per outing which is sixth-best in the league.
 
The Rangers enter Thursday's meeting with a 5-13 record overall and a 4-7 mark in GAC play which is tied for eighth.
 
They feature a foursome of double-digit scorers, led by T'Arie Taylor at 11.9 ppg, followed closely by Adrian Motley at 10.5 per outing.
 
Motley also leads the team in rebounding with 7.2 rpg, while Brandon Green is dishing out a team-best 3.2 assists per game.
