Storm Lose Game Two of GAC Road Swing

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Southeastern struggled from the floor and from behind the arc and were unable to keep pace with Henderson State en route to an 87-61 loss on Saturday afternoon in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The loss is the third-straight for the Savage Storm who dip to 4-4 on the year and 2-2 in Great American conference play and will be back on the court for the final home game of the fall when they host Dallas Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8.

SE had three double-digit scorers in the contest, led by Sami Bzai with 19 points on the strength of an 8-for-8 effort at the free throw line.

Anton Cook added 13 and Stelios Papafloratos chipped in 12 with a pair of threes.

The Storm shot 39.2 percent from the field overall, and were held to 5-of-20 from long range, while defensively allowing the Reddies to shoot 50.8 percent overall and 43.5 from long distance, hitting 120 threes in the game.

SE was outrebounded 40-to-26, with Cook, Nathan Jackson and Jose Libiano each pulling down four boards to lead the way.

Southeastern never led in the contest, with the game staying close however until the Reddies used a 14-5 run to open up a 28-14 lead with 12:57 to play.

SE answered with a 15-8 run that was capped by a Bzai three with 5:47 to play in the half that cut the deficit back to single digits at 36-29, but HSU answered and would take a 52-37 lead at halftime.

Cook would get the first bucket of the second half to cut the deficit to 13 points, but that was as close as the game would get as HSU answered and would lead by as many as 31 points in the second half before SE used some late scoring to close the final score to 87-61.
