DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern struggled to hit shots on Thursday night as it opened its final two-game road swing into the state of Arkansas with a 65-50 loss at Arkansas-Monticello.

The Savage storm dip to 15-8 overall and 8-7 in Great American Conference play heading into Saturday afternoon's matchup with league-leading Harding at 1 p.m.

Emily Williams led the team in scoring and was the only SE player in double-figures, but was held below her season average to 12 points thanks to an 8-of-8 effort from the free throw line.

Olivia Potter added a 3-for-5 night from behind the arc for nine points, while
Kaylie Baxter and
Shelby Hill each finished with seven.

The Storm shot 29.4 percent from the floor in the game, including a 27.3 percent clip from long range.

Williams also paced the club on the boards with five, while
Emem David and Taylo0r Richards added four each.

Williams completed the trifecta of major stat categories with a team-best five assists.

The Storm fell in a 6-0 hole to open the game which stretched into a 17-3 run over the first 7:12 of the game.

SE would trail by as many as 20 in in the first half before going to the locker room at halftime down 40-21.

The Storm would attempt to mount a rally, closing to a 13-point deficit twice, the last coming on a David free throw with 9:58 to play.

That was as close as the game would get though as SE would fall 65-50.
