ALVA, Okla. – Southeastern recovered from a series opening loss to pick up a sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State on day two, picking up wins of 9-3 and 4-1 on each end of a double-header to win the series.

The wins lift the Savage Storm to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in Great American Conference play. The team's Monday game against Oklahoma Baptist  has been postponed due to expected weather which means SE will be back in action on Feb. 20-21 when it hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State for a three-game series.

The front end of the twin bill saw
Kaleb Thomas,
Collin Sefcik and Brayon Coley each post a pair of hits.

Sefcik and
Cody Coats each drove in two, while Thomas,
Dylan Helms and
Logan Terwilliger each added an RBI.
Â
Evan Sanders got the start and picked up his second win of the season after tossing 5.0 innings and allowing a pair of runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.

Brady Colbert earned his second save of the season after tossing the final 4.0 innings and allowing a run on three hits with five K's.

SE got on the board in the top of the second, first with a Terwilliger double that plated
Corban Taylor, followed two batters later with Terwilliger scoring from third as Colley was picked off heading to second.

Coats would drive in Helms in the third on a ground out to push the lead to 3-0, but NWOSU would answer with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third to close the gap to one run.

Neither team would break through in the fourth, fifth or sixth innings before the Storm would reopen scoring in the seventh, doing so first when Thomas plated
Connor Counce by reaching on an error.

SE added another run on a Coats single that scored Terwilliger and one batter later Sefcik would drive in Colley to stretch the lead to 6-2.

A Helms RBI single to left in the top of the ninth would score Terwilliger for the third time in the game and stretch the advantage to 7-2.

Two batters later Sefcik would draw a bases-loaded walk to plate Colley and move the lead to 8-2.

The Rangers would get a run back in the bottom of the ninth to fashion the 8-3 final score.

In the series finale and rubber-match, it was Jacon Soisson and Taylor who tallied three hits each, while Sefcik and Counce added two each.

Taylor, Sefcik, Counce and Terwilliger each drove in a run.

On the hill
Nick Johnson tossed his second complete game of the season and was rewarded with his first win after going 7.0 innings and allowing a run on three hits with four strikeouts.

A Terwilliger sac fly in the second put SE on the board and the Storm tacked on a second run in the fourth on a Counce double that plated Soisson.

Sefick followed with an RBI single in the fifth, but NWOSU got a run back in the bottom half to make the score 3-1.

SE added an insurance run in the top of the seventh on an RBI double by Taylor, but would not need it as Johnson retired the side in order to end the game and give SE a 4-1 win.
