DURANT, Okla. – No. 4 Southeastern closed out the Southeastern Regional Invitational with a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Texas A&M-Commerce on Sunday afternoon at the Durant Multi-Sports complex.

The loss dropped the Savage Storm to 4-7 on the season overall heading into the opening weekend of Great American Conference play when SE will host Ouachita Baptist for a four-game series Feb. 20-21.

SE took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when a pinch-hitting

The Lions would get a pair of runs in the sixth by taking advantage of a pair of Southeastern errors, opening up a 2-1 lead.

The Storm was unable to mount a rally in the sixth or seventh innings, falling 2-1.

Jacee Bennett took the loss in the circle despite tossing a complete game and allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits with seven strikeouts.

Haley Strawn, Riddle, Simmons and Connor Harmon each collected hits, with Simmons driving in the team's only run.
