SE Opens Final Home Stand with OBU

DURANT, Okla. – After locking up a trip to the Great American Conference tournament, Southeastern will now open a three-game home stand looking to imp[rove its seeding, beginning with a 5:30 p.m. matchup with Ouachita Baptist Feb. 19 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The Savage Storm will then host Arkansas Tech on Feb. 21 at 1 p.m.
 
SE enters Thursday with a 16-8 record overall and a 9-7 mark in league play, just a game behind Arkansas-Monticello and East Central for third in the standings.
 
The Storm comes into the home stand as the league's third highest-scoring team at 71.9 ppg, while also playing good enough defense to win by an average of 8.2 ppg.
 
Emily Williams continues to pace the club in scoring and is fourth in the conference at 18.2 ppg and has two of the league's five highest scoring single game outings with games of 40 and 34 points.
 
Olivia Potter joins her in double-figures with 10.4 ppg as the league's most dangerous three-point shooter, averaging 2.9 three-point field goals made and shooting 43.2 percent from long range, hitting 70 of her 162 attempts.
 
Williams also ranks in the GAC top-5 in assists with 3.0 per game.
 
Williams completes the trifecta by being ranked in the top 10 in the three major stat categories by checking in at eighth in the league in rebounding with 7.3 rpg.
 
She is joined in the top 10 by Kaylie Baxter who is 10th in the GAC with 6.8 rpg.
 
SE is looking to avenge a pair of early season losses over the weekend.
 
The Storm dropped a 71-67 decision at OBU, and fell 86-75 at ATU.
 
The Tigers are 9-14 coming into Thursday's game after winning two-straight, but have lost three of its last five.
 
OBU is led by Breanna Harris at 13.0 ppg, while Katie Kapler is pulling down a team-high 7.5 rpg.
 
The Golden Suns head into the weekend with a 19-3 record overall and a conference-leading 14-2 record in league play.
 
Fatima Adams leads the team in points and rebounds with 21.4 ppg and 9.6 rpg.
