SE Set for Key Meeting with Rival Tigers

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will close out the home portion of its schedule on Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m. when it hosts rival East Central in Bloomer Sullivan Arena in a matchup that will be key to determining both team's seeds for the Great American Conference Tournament.
 
Thursday will be "White Out Night" as Savage Storm fans are encourages to wear white to the game.
 
The Savage Storm enter the contest at 18-8 overall and 11-7 in GAC play, while the Tigers come to town with a 15-9 record, but the same 11-7 record in league play.
 
The teams enter Thursday in a tie for third place in the conference standings with two games to play.
 
SE comes in as the hotter team, winners of three-straight, with two of those three coming against Harding and Arkansas Tech, the league's top-ranked teams.  The Storm have also won five of their last six.
 
ECU comes to Durant off a five-point loss to Harding and has lost three of its last four, however its one win was also over ATU.
 
The Tigers took the first meeting on Jan. 22 in Ada 56-53 in a game decided at the free throw line in the final 30 seconds.
 
The teams square off in totally different styles, with the Storm ranking third in the league in scoring at 72.2 ppg while the Tigers are 10th at 60.7 per outing.
 
However, defensively ECU leads the GAC in ppg allowed at 59.4, while SE allows 63.7 which is sixth best.
 
Southeastern will lean heavily on four-time and reigning GAC Player of the week Emily Williams who is fourth in the conference in scoring at 18.3 ppg.
 
She is also one of just two players to rank in the league's top 10 in points, rebounds and assists, adding 7.4 rpg which is sixth in the league and 3.2 assists per game which if fifth best.
 
She is joined in double-figures by Olivia Potter who continues to be the league's deadliest long-distance shooter, hitting 43.6 percent of her three point attempts and averaging 3.0 threes made per game, both GAC bests.
 
The Tigers have a trio of double-digit scorers led by Dilan Webster who is eighth in the league in scoring at 13.6 ppg, while she and teammate Jalyn Jackson are tied at 14th in the GAC in rebounds at 5.9 per contest.
