ADA, Okla.  – After taking an early lead, Southeastern found itself looking for a rally which came up short in an 11-10 loss in game one against rival East Central, with game two cancelled due to lighting and impending weather conditions in Ada, Okla.
Â
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 12-15 overall on the season and 8-4 in Great American Conference play heading into a four-game weekend road series against Southern Arkansas on March 28-29 in Magnolia, Ark.
Â
Jessica Simmons racked up three hits to lead the way for SE which outhit the Tigers 13-to-10.
Â
She was followed by
Laramie Beal,
Arianna Jones and
Sydney Kramer who had a pair of hits each.
Â
Jordyn James connected on a grand slam to top the team in RBI with four, while
Courtney Riddle drove in three runs,
Darrian Williams added a pair and Simmons drove in one.
Â
Jacee Bennett got the start but tossed just 1.0 innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on three hits.

Â
A two-run Riddle homer in the top of the first inning gave the Storm an early lead, but the Tigers answered with four in the bottom of the first to take a 4-2 advantage.
Â
Williams would cut into that deficit with an RBI triple that plated
Conner Harmon in the second.
Â
Then in the third Williams would get hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game, followed by an RBI single by Simmons and a bases-loaded walk drawn by Riddle to put SE up 6-4.
Â
But again ECU had an answer, this time with five runs in the third to open up a 9-4 lead.
Â
They would stretch the edge to 11-4 with two more runs in the fifth.
Â
Southeastern would load the bases on three-straight singles by Beal, Jones and Kramer to open the sixth inning before James connected on a grand slam to close the deficit to 11-10.
Â
That was as close as they would get as 11-10 would ho0ld to be the final score.
