Storm Looking to Break Tie at SNU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opens a three-game road swing with a key matchup against Southern Nazarene in a battle between teams tied in the standings on Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. in Bethany, Okla.
 
The Savage Storm hope to ride the momentum from their 82-72 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State which lifted them to 5-11 overall and 3-7 in Great American Conference play, moving them into a tie for eighth place with their Saturday afternoon opponent.
 
SE was led in its upset win by Kaylie Baxter who drained five threes and finished with 17 points to lead five players in double-figures.
 
Olivia Potter continues to lead the offense on the season with 15.1 ppg, while Baxter checks in at 10.9 per outing.
 
Rachel Wallace just missed double-figures at 9.4, while Taylor Richards is adding 8.9 per contest while shooting 58.8 percent from the floor.
 
Richards is also dishing out a team-high 4.5 assists per game, while SE as a team is handing out 15.6 per contest.
 
Wallace leads the way on the glass with 5.8 rpg, while Katie Webb is adding 5.4, with Baxter and Richards each chipping in more than four per outing as the Storm holds a 37.2-to-36.5 rpg edge over its opponents.
 
SNU enters the weekend with a 4-9 mark overall and a 3-7 record in league play and are coming off a loss at East Central.
 
The Crimson Storm is led by Abby Boyd who is averaging 18.8 ppg, while Adrienne Berry is chipping in 10.4 per contest.
 
As a team SNU averages 67.4 ppg, while foes are scoring 73.2 per contest.
 
LaShabra Plunkett leads the team in rebounding with 8.3 per game, while Chelseah Savage is dishing out a team-best 4.2 assists per game.
