Storm Men Set for League-Opening Road Trip

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opens its Great American Conference slate at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 when it travels to Monticello, Ark., to take on Arkansas-Monticello.
 
The Savage Storm will follow that up with a 3 p.m. contest on Nov. 19 with Southern Arkansas in Magnolia, Ark.
 
SE comes into the weekend with a 1-1 record after opening the year with a 71-62 win over Northeastern State before falling in overtime to host Central Oklahoma 71-68.
 
Tyler Lonzie led the way in a big way for the Storm, averaging 19.5 ppg over the opening weekend while also pacing the team in rebounds with 8.5 per contest.
 
Anton Cook added 12.5 ppg for the weekend, while Kevin Buckingham was just off the double-figure pace with 9.0 per contest.
 
SE shot 48.0 percent from the field and 43.3 percent from long range while also hitting nearly 70 percent of its free throws en route to a 69.5-to-66.5 edge in scoring.
 
Jett Jobe dished out a team-high 4.0 assists per contest.
 
Lonzie's 8.5 rpg led the Storm to a 39.5-to-26.5 rebounds per game edge in the battle on the glass.
 
UAM enters Thursday's matchup with a 1-0 record after topping Dallas Christian 103-74.
 
Derylton Hill led the way with 22 points in that contest, while four others added double-digit outings.
 
Cobe Goosby dished out a game-high six assists, while also leading the team in rebounds with nine.
 
SAU heads into the weekend with a 1-1 mark on the year after falling to Nebraska-Kearney to open the season before downing Minot State to close the weekend.
 
CJ Elkins paces the offense with 24.0 ppg and also dished out 3.0 assists per contest.
 
Denarious Lockhart hauled in a team-best 7.5 rebounds per outing.
