SE Welcomes OBU, HSU in GAC Home Opener

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will aim to extend its current winning streak when it hosts Ouachita Baptist on Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Dec. 3 matchup with Henderson State at 3 p.m., with both contests played in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 4-3 record overall thanks to a three-game winning streak that started with a 113-45 win over Dallas Christian and followed them to Kingsville, Texas for wins over Texas-Permian Basin and Texas A&M-Kingsville.  SE is 0-2 in Great American Conference play however.
 
Anton Cook paces the Storm offense and is 11th in the league with 15.3 ppg and is shooting 37.2 percent from behind the arc.
 
Tyler Lonzie and Nathan Jackson are each averaging 12.6 ppg and shooting 49.3 percent and 50.8 percent from the field, respectively.
 
Kevin Buckingham is chipping in 10.3 ppg and doing so while shooting 45.2 percent form beyond the three-point line.
 
Jett Jobe is fourth in the league in assists while handing out 4.9 assists per game and is sixth in assist/turnover ratio at 2.1.
 
Lonzie is fifth in the GAC in rebounding at 7.6 rebounds per contest and has blocked eight shots, while Jackson is averaging 2.0 steals per game.
 
The Storm are averaging 72.1 ppg and leading the conference in scoring defense by allowing just 62.6 per outing.
 
OBU comes into the game on Thursday with a 3-2 record overall and a 1-1 mark in league play and have dropped two of their last three outings.
 
Lakee Westbrook leads the Tigers on offense with 17.2 ppg as OBU holds a 76.0-to-73.8 ppg edge over its opponents.
 
Carven Holcombe leads the team on the glass with 5.8 rpg.
 
The Reddies are 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in GAC play with a three-game winning streak of its own.
 
They are paced by Kaylon Tappin who is turning in 15.6 ppg while HSU holds an 81.8-to-70.0 ppg advantage over its opponents.
 
Chris Hawkins is pulling doen a team-best 5.4 rebounds per outing.
