DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern mounted a furious fourth-quarter rally and closed a 15 point deficit to one possession, but was unable to close out the comeback in a 92-84 loss on Saturday afternoon to Henderson State in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The Savage Storm slip to 4-3 overall on the year and 3-1 in Great American Conference play and will be idle until Dec. 12 when they host Rogers State at 5:30 p.m.

SE had four double-digit scorers who were led by
Sa'Liesha Hunter who finished with 16 points while shooting 50.0 percent from the field.

Olivia Potter added 14 points on the back of three threes, while
Katie Webb turned in 14 and
Emem David chipped in 12.

Jordan Dawson added nine off the bench, while
Kierra Davis finished with seven.
Â
Hunter and Davis each dished out four assists as well.

Webb finished with a team-high nine rebounds, with
Ariannah Kemp right behind with eight.

SE shot 47.2 percent in the second half but it did not offset a 32.4 percent first half performance which left them in a 44-34 hole at the break.

SE held leads in the first quarter, but finished trailing 19-17 and was never able to get any closer than two points in the second quarter before the Reddies built a 44-34 halftime lead.

The Storm would close to within three points in the third quarter as well, but again HSU would pull ahead, taking a 65-56 lead to the fourth.

That ballooned to a 15 point advantage by the 6:36 mark, but Southeastern bounced back with a 21-7 run to cut the deficit to 85-82 on a Hunter layup with 2:01 to play.

The Storm would get it to three points again with 1:13 to go but HSU scored the final five points of the game to hand SE a 92-84 loss.
