Storm Faces ATU, HU in Must-Win Matchups

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern heads into the final two games of the regular season, first facing Arkansas Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 before closing at Harding at 3 p.m. on Feb. 27, in need of a pair of wins and some help to reach the Great American Conference Tournament.
 
The Savage Storm enter the weekend with a 10-16 record overall and an 8-12 mark in league play and are sitting in ninth place, one game behind Northwestern Oklahoma State who holds the eighth and final spot in the postseason tournament.
 
To reach that tournament SE needs to win a pair of games this week and get the assistance of a pair of losses by NWOSU who is playing at Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State to close the season.
 
Anton Cook leads the Storm offense with 15.5 ppg while shooting 41.3 percent from the floor and hitting 58 threes on the year, while Sami Bzai is right behind at 14.1 ppg while shooting 42.5 percent overall and 41.4 percent from three with a team-high 67 threes.
 
Nathan Jackson rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.1 ppg and shooting 52.4 percent.
 
Tyler Lonzie is adding 8.5 ppg while leading the team on the boards with 6.5 per game, while Jackson is next in line with 5.4

Bzai is dishing out a team-high 2.8 assists per game, while Cook and Quinton Threadgill are adding 2.5 per outing each.
 
ATU comes into Thursday's game with a 15-11 record and a 10-10 mark in GAC play and is in seventh in the standings with a two game lead over SE.
 
The Wonder Boys are paced offensively by Marquis Yates who is posting 16.7 ppg, while Nick Wayman leads the way on the boards with 6.3 per outing.
 
HU heads into the weekend with a 16-9 overall record and a 15-5 record in league play.
 
The Bisons are led by Jacob Gibson who is posting 16.3 ppg to lead five players averaging in double figures, while Stefan Andelkovic leads the team in rebounding with 5.3 per game.
