Storm Women Look to Keep Streak Going

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will aim to keep its winning streak alive when it returns home for a weekend home stand beginning Feb. 4 with Ouachita Baptist at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Saturday afternoon matchup Feb. 6 with Henderson State at 1 p.m., both in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with an 8-11 record overall and a 6-7 record in Great American conference play, but are currently riding a four-game winning streak which is the second longest current streak in the conference.
 
With that mark SE is tied for seventh in the GAC standings, one game behind Oklahoma Baptist in sixth.
 
Southeastern is averaging 75.8 ppg over its current winning streak while holding opponents to 64.3 ppg.
 
Olivia Potter continues to lead a trio of double-digit averages on offense with 14.3 ppg while making and average of 3.2 three pointers per game.
 
Kaylie Baxter has lifted her scoring average to 11.3 ppg and is shooting nearly 40 percent form beyond the arc, hitting 2.3 threes per game, while Rachel Wallace is averaging 10.0 ppg and is third on the team in three point shots made.
 
Taylor Richards is just short of double-digits with 9.3 ppg, but is triggering the offense to the tune of 4.4 assists per game, while also shooting 58.0 percent from the floor and 90.9 percent from the free throw line.
 
Wallace paces the team on the glass with 5.5 rpg, while Katie Webb is right behind at 5.0 per contest.
 
OBU comes to town at 7-12 overall and 4-9 in GAC play, but are coming off a 74-70 win over Southern Nazarene in its last game out.
 
Katie Kapler leads a trio of double-digit scorers at 15.5 ppg, while as a team the Tigers are getting outscored 70.2-to-65.8 ppg.
 
Kapler and Kori Bullard lead the team on the glass with 7.2 rpg apiece, while Bullard is dishing out a team-best 2.6 assists per game.
 
HSU enters the weekend at 9-10 overall, but 8-5 in GAC play and are coming off a 66-60 loss to Oklahoma Baptist last time out.
 
Dunlincia Keener leads the scoring at 17.8 ppg, with Reddie opponents holding a 73.2-to-71.8 edge in scoring overall.
