DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern recovered from a hard-to-swallow 3-2 loss in the series opener with Southern Nazarene to pick up a 4-0 victory in the nightcap on Friday afternoon at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 22-14 on the season and 18-8 in Great American Conference play with the final two games in the series slated for noon on Saturday.

Emily Cudd recorded her first complete game shutout in the nightcap after allowing just three hits and four total base runners while striking out eight for her 11
th win.
Â
Jessica Simmons and
Sydney Kramer each went 2-for-3 to combine for half of the team's eight hits.
Â
Kramer also drove in a pair of runs, while
Destiny Riddle and
Courtney Riddle each had an RBI as well.
Â
Destiny Riddle put SE on the board with an RBI single to shortstop in the third and one batter later Kramer turned that into a 2-0 lead with a single to center.

Kramer would also make it 3-0 with a single in the fifth to score Simmons while
Courtney Riddle followed two batter later with a single to right to plate Kramer for the 4-0 lead which would hold to be the final.

In the opener, despite being no-hit into the sixth inning SE had built a 2-1 lead.

The Storm got on the board when Simmons reached on a catcher's interference to lead off the first inning and proceeded to steal second, third and home to take a 1-0 lead.

SNU would tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth, but Kramer would draw a walk, steal second and then score when
Laramie Beal laid down a sac bunt but reached on an error when the third baseman overthrew first to take a 2-1 lead.

Unfortunately, the Crimson Storm would pick up a pair of hits in the top of the seventh to steal the 3-2 win.

Kramer collected the team's lone hit in the game, and along with Simmons accounted for the team's runs.
Â
Both Simmons and Kramer stole three bases in the game.

Jessica Seay took the loss after allowing three runs on 10 hits in 6.1 innings of work with six strikeouts, while Cudd tossed two-thirds of an inning, facing one batter.
