ALVA, Okla. – Turnovers and a rough shooting night left Southeastern in a hole they could not climb out of against Central Oklahoma, falling 78-51 on Friday night in the GAC/MIAA Challenge in Alva, Okla.

The Savage Storm open the year 0-1 and will face off with Northeastern State at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Kevin Buckingham led SE in scoring with 11 points on 5-of-11 from the floor, while A'Torey Everett checked in with seven in his debut, as did Ryan Scott-McGuire.

Buckingham and Jett Jobe each dished out three assists, while Jobe added a pair of steals.

The Storm shot 32.7 percent from the floor overall and 20.0 on 5-of-25 three point tries.

Buckingham was also the team's leading rebounder with seven boards, while Bobby Johnson and Everett had four each.

UCO opened up an early double-digit lead in the contest and the Storm trailed 45-29 at the break and would get no closer in the second half.
