DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern got 21 points from Katie Webb and never trailed en route to its first win of the season, downing Northeastern state 72-59 on Saturday night in the GAC/MIAA Challenge in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 1-1 on the year as they will be back in action on Nov. 16 when they open conference play against nationally-ranked Harding at 5:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Webb finished as the game's high-scorer with 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting, while
Emem David posted 17 on the night on 4-of-8 shooting with a 9-of-9 effort at the free throw line.

Taten Hyde added nine points off the bench, with Alix Robinson, Ariannah Kemp, and Courtney Brady chipping in seven apiece.

Sa'Liesha Hunter dished out five of the team's 16 assists, while Kemp added four.

David wrapped up a double-double with 11 rebounds to lead all players on the glass, followed by seven board from Webb and six from Kemp.

The Storm held a 23-14 lead in points off turnovers and a 30-24 edge in the paint.

Kemp scored the game's first four points and SE never looked back, quickly jumping out to a 12-5 lead four minutes into the game.

That lead would grow to 23-11 before taking a 23-14 lead into the first break.

NSU would narrow the gap to two points in the second quarter before SE closed out the half with a 35-28 lead.

The storm would extend the lead to a nine point edge by the end of the third quarter and would ultimately pull away for the 72-59 victory.
