Webb's Career-High Powers SE to Win

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Katie Webb dropped a career-high 30 points as Southeastern cruised past Southern Arkansas, 85-64, on Saturday afternoon in Magnolia, Ark.
 
The win is the team's third-straight as the Savage Storm improve to 5-2 overall on the year and 3-1 in Great American Conference play.
 
Webb was 11-of-15 from the floor and hit 6-of-7 from three point range to pile up her game-high 30 points, while Courtney Brady added 12 in the effort and Emem David chipped in 11. Alix Robinson finished with nine points on 3-of-5 shooting from behind the arc.
 
Webb and Brady each dished out a game-high four assists, while David handed out three.
 
The Storm shot 46.6 percent from the floor for the game, bolstered by a 59.3 percent effort in the second half which included a 46.6 percent mark from behind the arc.
 
David turned in a double-double by tacking on a game-high 14 rebounds to help SE to a 45-to-25 edge on the glass.
 
Southeastern jumped ahead early, but took control midway through the first quarter with a 17-3 run capped by a Brady free throw before settling on a 25-17 lead after one quarter.
 
However, SAU would whittle the Storm lead down to just 36-33 at the half.
 
The teams traded buckets for the first half of the third quarter with the Muleriders fighting to a 42-42 tie, when a Webb three kicked off a 14-7 run capped by a Brady three to take a 56-49 lead into the final frame.
 
Another Webb three opened the fourth quarter, but by the 7:06 mark SAU would trim the SE lead to 64-58. The Storm answered with the game's next 10 points and would outscore the Muleriders 21-6 over the final seven minutes to pull away for the 85-64 win.
