DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern stepped out of conference play for the first time in three weeks and pushed its home field winning streak to four-straight with an 11-8 win over Rogers State on Tuesday afternoon at The Ballpark in Durant.

The win lifts the Savage storm to 11-21-1 overall on the year heading into a three-game home series against Southern Nazarene April 14-15.

Gage Ross led the way with a 3-for-4 performance, while
Brett Akins,
Luke Thomas and
Jake Perez each had a pair of hits while SE piled up 13 as a team.

Perez and
Cameron Roberts each added three RBI with a home run apiece, while
Cade Clay, Thomas and Ross each drove in one.

Tristen Wood got the start and tossed 4.0 innings but was hit for five runs on four hits with three strikeouts and six walks.
Â
Jake Patterson came on in relief was touched up for two runs on two hits in an inning pitched.
Â
Michael Brinska then came on and would get credit for the win after tossing 2.0 innings and allowing a run on four hits.
Â
Brandon Wolski would then close out the game with a pair of innings pitched without allowing a hit to earn the save.

After the game started with three complete scoreless innings it was the Hillcats who got on the board first with a three-run homer in the fourth inning by Ismael Orozco.

Orozco would come back in the fifth inning and connect on a grand slam to put RSU ahead 7-0 midway through the fifth.
Â
Roberts and Perez would each connect on two-run homers in the bottom of the fifth to trim the deficit to 7-4, with a Clay sac fly finishing off a five-run fifth to make it 7-5.

Ross would score a run in the sixth while taking advantage of an error which allowed
Travis Spinney to reach safely.

RSU would add a run in the top of the seventh to make it 8-6.

The Storm again had an answer, first with Roberts driving in Akins on a fielder's choice.

A batter later Ross would tie the game at 8-8 with a single to right which plated Thomas.
Â
Perez would then reach on an error after laying down a sac bunt to squeeze home Roberts and take a 9-8 lead.

Thomas would tack on an RBI by plating
Hunter Harrison with a single in the eighth and eventually come around and score on a wild pitch to fashion the 11-8 final score.
