Savage Storm Host OBU, HSU to open 2018

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern returns to Great American Conference play when it hosts Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State on Jan. 4 and 6, respectively, to open the 2018 half of the season in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The Savage Storm will first take on Ouachita Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 4 and finish the week on Jan. 6 with a 3 p.m. matchup with Henderson State.
 
SE is coming off an overtime loss to Oklahoma Christian on Dec. 30 and has dropped two-straight, but returns to league play with a 3-2 record against the GAC and a 4-6 record overall on the year.
 
The Storm are led by Kevin Buckingham's 14.0 ppg, while Markell Henderson is next in line with 12.8 ppg with Jet Jobe chipping in 9.8 per outing.
 
SE is averaging 71.7 ppg on the season, but is allowing 75.1 per contest.
 
Buckingham leads the team on the glass with 6.3 rebounds per game, while Henderson is adding 4.5 per outing.
 
OBU comes into the weekend with a 4-5 overall record and a 2-2 mark in conference play, but have lost four-straight
 
Matt Stanley and Mahlon Martin lead the offense with 11.3 ppg each, while Isaiah Harper leads the way with 4.6 rebounds per outing.
 
HSU enters the weekend with a 6-4 overall record and a 1-3 mark in league play and winners of three-straight.
 
Kaylon Tappin lead the offense averaging 19.6 points per game, while Matt Panaggio is pulling down a team-best 5.8 rpg.
