DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern men's basketball will finally open the season in earnest when it hosts Arlington Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The Savage Storm will be the final Great American Conference team to open its season.  SE was picked second in the league's preseason poll

Southeastern had its first recorded action against outside competition back on Nov. 8 when it traveled to Little Rock, Ark., to take on Arkansas-Little rock in an exhibition contest.

The Storm led by as many as 10 points in that contest, but a late rally by UALR would knot the game and send it to overtime where the home team outscored the Storm 22-13, handing SE a 101-92 loss.

Kevin Buckingham turned in a monster outing, finishing with 33 points on 11-of-20 shooting which included five threes.  He also added 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

As a team SE hit 18-of-47 three-point shots on the night and shot 42.3 percent from the floor overall while holding a 42-to-40 edge on the glass, including an 18-8 edge on the offensive glass.

Three others reached double figures, with
Jett Jobe and
Kayo Goncalves each draining four threes and turning in 12 points, while
Kellen Manek posted 11 points.

Al Ervin led the team with five assists, while
Adam Dworsky added four and the Storm finished with 22 as a team.

Arlington Baptist comes to town with an 0-4 record on the season, dropping its last trip out 91-69 at Texas Wesleyan, with Jashun Petite leading the way with 16 points, while Kennedy Jones added 13 in the effort.
