Southeastern Set for GAC Opening Weekend

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will be aiming to open its Great American Conference play in the same perfect manner as the overall season when it first travels to Shawnee, Okla., to take on Oklahoma Baptist at 7:30 p.m., before travelling to Weatherford, Okla., to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State at 3 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm opened the season with three-straight wins and sit 3-0 after a trip to San Antonio, Texas, where it picked up a pair of wins, including one over St. Mary's on its home court.
 
SE is led on the year offensively by Kellen Manek who is turning in 20.3 ppg, which ranks fourth in the GAC, while shooting 55.9 percent from the floor and 53.8 percent from behind the arc.
 
Kevin Buckingham is right on his heels with 18.0 ppg and would be ranked in the league's top-10 if he had not missed the season opener.  Despite that he is shooting 64.7 percent from the floor and has hit 5-of-6 threes over two games.
 
Jett Jobe is third on the team in scoring and ranks 15th in the league while putting up 15.0 ppg.
 
Jobe leads the team in assists with 4.7 per game, while Adam Dworsky is dishing out 3.7 per contest.
 
Buckingham leads the way on the glass for the team with 9.0 rebounds per game, with Manek the next player in line with 4.7 per game.
 
SE is averaging 81.7 ppg on the year so far and holds an average margin of victory of 12.7 ppg.
 
OBU enters the contest at 1-3 overall on the season but leads the GAC in points, averaging 91.2 ppg
 
Antonio Wade leads the Bison on offense with 17.8 ppg while shooting 59.1 percent from the floor, while also handing out a team-best 4.5 assists per game.
 
Dishon Lowery leads the team on the boards with 9.5 rpg.
 
SWOSU also enters the weekend with a 1-3 mark, but won its last contest over Cameron, 106-90.
 
The Bulldogs are paced by Tre Evens who leads the league in scoring with 25.7 ppg, while also hadnign out a team-best 7.0 assists per contest.
 
Cheikh Fall leads the squad on the glass with 5.3 rebounds per game.
