EDMOND, Okla. – Southeastern opened play at the Edmond Regional Festival with a 4-2 win in extra innings over Rogers State, but ended it with a 9-6 loss to host Central Oklahoma in game two on Thursday afternoon in Edmond, Okla.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 3-6 on the year heading into a pair of games on Friday to be played at Oklahoma Christian, facing Northeastern State at 1 p.m. before taking on host OCU at 3 p.m.

In the opener, the Savage Storm fell behind 2-0 with RSU putting up solo homers in the fourth and the sixth, leaving SE looking to rally heading to the bottom of the seventh.

In the seventh,
Mykaela Wallace singled and that was followed by an
Elexis Watson home run to knot the game at 2-2 and force extra innings.

Despite facing international tie breaker rules the Storm kept the Hillcats off the board and opened the bottom of the inning with
Symphoni Shomo placed on second.
Â
After a sac bunt moved her to third, Shomo whould get thrown out at the plate on a
Kennedy Salyers fielder's choice to leave the Storm with a runner at first and two outs.

Salyer would steal second and a batter later
Karsyn Brigance would connect on a two-run homer of her own for the walk-off 4-2 win.

Shomo finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate, while
Destiny Riddle, Salyers, Brigance, Wallace, Watson and
Sydnee Hinkle each added one hit.

Watson and Brigance each drove in two runs with a homer.

Kelsey Story collected the win after tossing a complete 8.0 innings and allowing two runs on three hits with 10 strikeouts.

In the nightcap Hinkle collected three hits to lead the SE offense, while Shomo,
Keeshia Thompson and Wallace each collected two.
Â
Hinkle and Wallace each drove in a pair of runs while Brigance and Watson collected an RBI each.

Emily Cudd got the start and tossed 4.1 innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits.
Â
Destiny Riddle tossed one-third of an inning and Story added 1.1 innings in relief but took the loss after allowing five runs on four hits.

SE took a lead in the top of the first when Shomo scored on a Brigance squeeze bunt for a 1-0 lead.

UCO answered with a solo homer in the bottom of the first, but a Hinkle homer in the third and RBI hits from Wallace and Hinkle in the fourth would put the Storm up 4-1.

The Bronchos would take advantage of an error in the bottom of the fourth to close the gap to 4-3 before putting up five in the fifth on the back of a grand slam to open up an 8-4 lead.

Wallace would single home Thompson to cut into to the deficit in the sixth, but UCO would tack on another run in the bottom half of the inning open a 9-5 lead.

Watson would connect on her second homer of the day in the seventh to close it to 9-6, but that was as close as they would get.
