DURANT, OKLA. – Southeastern would close out its series with Henderson State with a pair of wins on Saturday, taking the opener 8-2 before closing out the series with a 4-2 victory in the finale at the Southeastern Softball field.

The wins lift the Savage Storm to 18-11 overall and 12-4 in Great American Conference play.
Â
In the opener,
Elexis Watson,
Keeshia Thompson,
Mykaela Wallace, and
Kennedy Salyers each posted a pair of hits, while
Symphoni Shomo and
Destiny Riddle added one apiece.
Â
Wallace put up a pair of runs on a two-run homer and Salyers drove in two of her own, while Watson added a solo homer for an RBI, with Shomo and Hinkle adding an RBI each.

Kelsey Meeks turned in a complete game victory, tossing 7.0 innings and allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out four.

HSU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, but the Storm answered with a Watson solo shot in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 1-1.

Later in the third Riddle would come home on a wild pitch to put SE ahead 2-1.

The Reddies tied the game 2-2 with an RBI single in the top of the fifth.

A two-run Wallace homer in the bottom half would break the tie and put the Storm up 4-2.

Later in the inning a bases-loaded Shomo walk would push the lead to 5-2.

In the sixth inning Hinkle would squeeze home Thompson, and two batters later Salyers would triple home a pair of runs to make the final score 8-2.

In the series finale, Shomo collected a pair of hits, while Watson, Riddle, Thompson, Wallace, and Hinkle added one apiece.

Watson, Riddle, Thompson, and
Kendyl Dockter each posted an RBI.

Emily Cudd got the start and picked up the win after allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits with three strikeouts in four innings of work.

Riddle followed with two innings of scoreless ball on one hit before Meeks came on to record a save after tossing a scoreless seventh inning.

A Riddle single in the bottom of the first would score Shomo for a 1-0 lead.

HSU would gain the lead at 2-1 in the top of the second inning on a single and an error.
Â
Watson would tie the game in the bottom of the second by drawing an intentional walk with the bases loaded to make it 2-2.

A Dockter sac fly in the third would plate Thompson to put the Storm in front and a Thompson RBI single in the fourth would make that lead 4-2 which would hold to be the final.
