DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern closed out the 2018 season with a sweep of rival East Central on Saturday afternoon, taking game one 15-11 before finishing off the series with a 10-2 victory on Senior Day at The Ballpark in Durant.

The wins lifts the Savage Storm to 22-23 overall on the year and they will end the season with a 17-15 record in Great American Conference play, but just miss the postseason tournament.

Austin Ferguson finished game one 4-for-4, while
Joseph Cerda and
Cade Clay added three hits each.
Â
Bryce Deatherage turned in a pair of hits, while four others added a hit apiece as the Storm piled up 16 hits on the contest.

Cerda drove in three runs, while Ferguson, Elliott, and Clay added two RBI each.
Â
Greg Hubbell got the start but lasted just one-third of an inning before giving up four runs on a hit with three walks.

Hayden Grimes came on in relief and tossed 6.2 innings and allowed three runs on eight hits with four strikeouts to earn the win.

Cody Johnson would allow a pair of runs on no hits with two walks in one-third of an inning before
Jake Patterson came on to finish the game with 1.2 innings of work, allowing two runs on four hits.

ECU opened up a 4-0 lead in the top of the first, but a Ferguson RBI would close the gap to 4-1.

The Storm caught fire in the bottom of the fifth inning with Ferguson,
Brett Akins, and Elliott each driving in a run before Cerda connected on a two run homer, ultimately putting six runs up in the inning and taking a 7-4 lead.

A Clay homer in the sixth inning highlighted a five-run inning and pushed the Storm lead to 12-4 after six innings.

ECU closed the gap with three in the top of the seventh, but a Deatherage RBI would push SE back up 13-7 after seven.

The Tigers again picked up two runs in the top of the eighth, but SE found another response with RBI from
Caleb Dubler and Clay to take a 15-9 lead after eight innings.

ECU would add two more in the top of the ninth to make the final score 15-11.

In the finale, an Elliott triple would drive in two runs followed by an error which allowed a third run to score to open up a 3-0 lead after one.

The Tigers picked up a run in each of the third and fourth innings to close the gap to 3-2.

In the bottom of the fifth Cerda drove in a run and was responsible for two when he reached on an error, followed by a two-run single by Clay to open up a 7-2 lead after five.

In the sixth, Spinney would score on a throwing error, followed by a Cerda RBI and Ferguson scoring on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 10-2, which would hold to be the final.

Spinney, Ferguson, and Elliott collected two hits apiece in the finale.
Â
Elliott, Cerda, and Clay each added two RBI.

Bryce Deatherage got the start and earned the win after allowing two runs on 10 hits with seven strikeouts in 6.1 innings pitched.

Dallas Guerrero recorded an out as did Patterson to finish out the final inning and secure the win.
