BENTONVILLE, Ark. – After getting extra inning heroics earlier in the day to stay alive, Southeastern saw its postseason run come to an end on Friday evening in an 8-5 loss to top-seeded Southern Arkansas at the Great American Conference Tournament in Bentonville, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 34-23 overall and brings the 2018 season to an end.

Kennedy Salyers collected two of the team's four hits, while
Elexis Watson added a home run and
Mykaela Wallace added a hit.

Watson drove in a pair of runs, while Salyers added an RBI.
Â
Kelsey Meeks got the start and tossed 6.1 innings in the loss, allowing seven runs, four earned, on 10 hits.

Destiny Riddle tossed two-thirds of an inning, allowing one unearned run on one hit.

SE took a lead in the bottom of the second inning when
Karsyn Brigance reached on an error which allowed
Keeshia Thompson to score before adding a run of her own on a passed ball to take a 2-0 lead.

SAU would answer with one run in each of the next two innings before an inning extending error in the fifth allowed the Muleriders to put up five runs in the inning and open up a 7-2 lead.

Watson connected on a two-run homer in the bottom half of the inning to trim the deficit to 7-4 heading to the sixth.

Salyers added an RBI single in the sixth to close the gap to 7-5, but SAU tacked on a run in the top of the seventh an SE was unable to mount a rally, falling 8-5.
