SE Women Set for South Arkansas Road Swing

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will aim to carry the momentum of a home sweep to open 2019 when it hits the road for the first two games of a three-game road swing, first facing Arkansas-Monticello at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 in Monticello, Ark., before closing the Arkansas portion of the trip with a 1 p.m. matchup with Southern Arkansas in Magnolia, Ark., on Jan. 12
 
The Savage Storm come into the trip with a 7-4 record overall and a 5-2 mark in Great American Conference play which has them sitting in a tie for second with Henderson State.
 
Southeastern hits the road ranked second in the GAC in scoring at 81.0 ppg, while holding opponents to 65.2 per outing which is good for fifth.
 
That offense is paced by Katie Webb who is tied for the league-lead in scoring at 20.0 ppg and is the only player in the GAC ranked in the top-five in scoring and rebounding, pulling down 8.4 rpg.
 
She is joined in double-figures by a pair of freshmen, with Kamryn Cantwell turning in 14.0 ppg to rank 13th in the conference, while Briley Moon's 10.8 ppg is good for 25th.
 
Cantwell is next in line with 5.6 rebounds and is the team's assist leader with 3.3 per outing which is sixth best in the GAC.
 
SE leads the Teague in assists as a team with 18.5 per game, and is plus-5.00 in turnovers, carrying a 1.5 assists to turnover ratio which is the top mark in the conference.
 
UAM comes into Thursday's matchup with a 4-7 record overall and a 3-3 mark in league play which has them in a three-way tie for fifth in the GAC standings.
 
The Cotton Blossoms have the league's number three scorer in Mackenzie Johnson who is turning in 18.9 ppg to lead an offense that is averaging 66.0 ppg which ranks ninth as a team.
 
She is joined in double-digits by Chari Swift and Berniezha Tidwell who are each averaging 12.8 ppg, while Swift is hauling in a team-high 5.7 rebounds per outing and Taylor Farley has dished out 2.0 assists per game.
 
The Muleriders enter the weekend 1-11 overall and 0-6 in league play which has them 12th in the standings.
 
SAU ranks 12th in the league in scoring offense and is led by Arianna Guinn who is putting up 10.9 ppg of the team's 56.2 per outing.
 
Alyssa Crase is the team's leading rebounder with 6.0 rpg, while Camryn Fennell has dished out a team-best 3.1 assists per contest.
