Southeastern Downs SWOSU, 102-79

DURANT, Okla. – Three starters posted double-doubles and Southeastern topped the 100-point mark for the first time on the season in a dominating 102-79 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The win lifts the Savage Storm to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in Great American Conference play with their next action slated for Dec. 7 when they travel to face Northwestern Oklahoma State for a 3 p.m. matchup in Alva, Okla.
 
Kayo Goncalves, A'Torey Everett and Adam Dworsky each posted double-doubles on the day as all five starters again reached double-figures points for the third-straight game.
 
Goncalves turned in a career-high 22 points to lead all scorers, aided by six threes, and matched a game-high 11 rebounds to complete his double-double.
 
Everett had his in similar fashion with 18 points and a matching 11 rebounds.
 
Dworsky turned in his fourth-consecutive double-double to open the season, finishing with 10 points and 15 assists, finishing one assists shy of matching Southeastern's and the GAC's single-game assists record.
 
Kevin Buckingham finished as the team's second highest scorer with 19 points, while Kellen Manek finished with 18 and was one rebound shy of his own double-double.
 
Southeastern never trailed in the contest, opening on a 7-0 run capped by an Everett bucket.
 
SWOSU would cut the SE edge to one possession with 12:03 to go in the first half, but a Buckingham three would end the rally and trigger an 8-0 run to push the lead back to double-figures.
 
The Bulldogs would once more close to one possession at 24-21, but the Storm would explode for 28 points over the final eight minutes, holding a 28-8 edge in that span to take a 52-29 lead at halftime.
 
The SE lead would reach its largest point at 66-34 on a Manek three with 15:10 to play, but SWOSU would eventually cut the advantage to as close at 17 points with 6:18 to play but a Goncalves three would end that threat and the Storm would pull away for a 102-79 win.
