DURANT, Okla. – Despite a late rally, No. 18 Southeastern was unable to overcome a slow start on the road, falling at No. 20 Texas A&M-Commerce on Tuesday night in Commerce, Texas.

The loss is the first of the season for the Savage Storm who fall to 4-1 on the year with its next action coming Dec. 7 when it travels to Alva, Okla., to jump back into Great American Conference play against Northwestern Oklahoma State.

Katie Webb paced SE offensively with 18 points on the night, while
Kamryn Cantwell was next in line with 16 and
Briley Moon reached double-digits with 11.

The Storm finished the game shooting 47.1 percent from the field, thanks to a strong finish when they hit 60.0 percent in the fourth quarter.

Webb finished with five assists to lead the team, while Cantwell and
Logan Oestreich each had three.
Â
Webb and Moon led SE on the board with eight apiece, while Moon snagged four steals and Cantwell swiped three.

TAMUC scored the first four points of the game but the Storm answered with five-straight to take an early lead.

SE would cool off over the next three minutes as the Lions reeled off a 10-0 run to open-up a 14-5 lead that would extend to a 24-10 deficit at the end of the first quarter.

Southeastern would trail by as many as 18 in the second quarter, but a Webb jumper would set the Storm off on a 10-4 run to end the second quarter and close the halftime gap to 40-28.

The Storm would close the deficit to nine points in the third quarter on a pair of
Jordan Benson free throws, but ultimately the teams played the quarter to a 17-17 tie and SE would trail 57-45 after three quarters.

Southeastern put together a rally in the fourth quarter, putting together a 7-2 run capped by a Moon jumper to close the score to 62-47 with 1:27 to play.

Unfortunately, that was as close as the Storm would get as TAMUC would halt the late charge and SE would fall 70-64.
