Storm Set for Hoops In Hawaii Dec. 19-21

DURANT, Okla. – After getting back in the win column on Monday, No. 21/22 Southeastern will set out on its longest road trip of the season, heading to the island of Oahu to participate in the Hoops in Hawaii Invitational Dec. 19-21 in Honolulu, Hi.
 
The Savage Storm will open the event against Simon Fraser on Dec. 19 at 10:30 p.m. central time, followed by a matchup with Alaska-Anchorage on Dec. 20 at 9:45 p.m.
 
The event closes with a meeting with Colorado Mines set for midnight Oklahoma time.
 
SE comes into the event with a 6-1 record on the year and is carrying a national ranking for the fourth-straight week.
 
The Storm is putting up 86.0 ppg and winning it games by an average margin of 13.9 ppg while shooting 48.3 percent overall as a team and hitting 42.3 percent as a team from beyond the arc.
 
Kevin Buckingham paces the scoring as all five SE starters are averaging at least 12 points per game or better. Buckingham is putting up 19.3 per outing, including a 20-plus point effort on Monday, and is shooting 51.5 percent from the field.
 
Kayo Goncalves is right behind him and is coming off a pair of career-highs in a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds against Arlington Baptist and he is averaging 16.7 ppg while shooting 57.4 percent from the field and is second in the nation at 57.1 percent from three-point range.
 
A'Torey Everett is next in line with 15.4 ppg, while Kellen Manek is averaging 12.7 and Adam Dworsky is at 12.3 per game.
 
Dworsky continues to lead the nation in assists with 11.1 per game while the Storm as a team rank fifth with 20.7 apg.
 
Goncalves leads the rebounding effort for SE with 8.9 rpg, while Buckingham and Manek are pulling down 6.4 rpg apiece and the squad holds a 36.6-to-34.0 edge on the boards.
 
Simon Fraser comes into the contest with a 7-1 record on the season and have won seven-straight since a season-opening loss.
 
The Clan are led on offense by Jasdeep Singh who is averaging 19.4 ppg to pace a group of five double-digit scorers, while Michael Provenzano is handing out a team-high 4.7 assists per outing.
 
Wilfried Balata leads the team on the board with 8.4 rpg.
 
Alaska-Anchorage comes to Hawaii with an 8-2 record on the year and has won its last three contests.
 
The Seawolves are led offensively by Niko Bevens who is averaging 13.8 ppg while DeAndre Osuigwe is handing out 5.0 assist per contest.
 
Oggie Pantovic paces the club on the glass with 6.6 rpg.
 
Colorado Mines enters the week with a 6-3 record on the season and are winners of four-straight.
 
The Orediggers offense is paced by Mason Baker who is averaging 20.2 ppg to lead a group of four double-digit scorers while he also paces the team in assists with 4.8 per game.
