EDMOND, Okla. – Southeastern snapped its seven-game losing skid with a 5-0 shutout victory over Northeastern State in Monday's first game at Raising Cane's Edmond Softball Festival, before dropping its finale against host Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 2-8 on the season heading into an 11-day gap before jumping into Great American Conference play.

Elexis Watson posted a 2-for-3 effort at the plate with a pair of RBI to lead the offense, while
Symphoni Shomo added two hits and a run scored with
Karsyn Brigance posting two hits as well.

Keeshia Thompson added an RBI on a hit, while
Ivy Amador collected a hit.
Â
Destiny Riddle got the start and tossed a complete game shutout, scattering six hits and a strikeout over seven innings of work.

Thompson would single home Watson to put the first run on in the top of the first inning followed by Shomo swiping home on a double-steal hang-up play for a 2-0 lead.

Watson would come back up in the second and connect on a two-run homer to extend the lead to 4-0.

The Storm would convert the double-steal hang-up play again in the third inning and Amador scored to take a 5-0 lead which would hold up to be the final.

SE dropped the finale against UCO by a 17-5 final score in five innings.

Shomo added two more hits while three others collected one.

Thompson would drive in two, while Shomo,
Katie McCullar, and
Mykaela Wallace drove in one each.

McCullar started and tossed three innings and was tagged for 17 runs, 14 of them earned, on 16 hits with two strikeouts.

Emily Cudd tossed the final inning and allowed a pair of hits while striking out one.

The Bronchos erupted for 12 runs in the second inning on 11 hits and added five more on four hits and an error in the third to open up a 17-0 lead.

SE got the offense moving in the fourth with a Thompson double plating two runs, followed by a sac fly by McCullar later in the inning before a
Mykaela Wallace single would drive in
Kamarie Wallace to make it 17-4.

Shomo would connect on her first home run of the season in the top of the fifth to fashion the 17-5 final score.
