DURANT, Okla. – Saturday afternoon was all about pitching as Southeastern collected a 1-0 win in game one over Washburn before falling in the nightcap 3-1 at The Ballpark in Durant.

The split moves the Savage Storm to 2-5 overall on the year with the final game of the series with Washburn slated for noon on Sunday.

Neither offense was hot in the opener, but the Storm collected four hits, two by
Drew Bolin who was 2-for-2, and one by
Austin Ferguson and another by
Colton Buckner, the solo homer to score the game's only run.

However, the pitching was clicking as
Mason Whitmarsh scattered three hits over seven scoreless runs with three strikeouts to collect his first win of the season.

Logan Teske came on in the eighth and struck out five of the six batters he faced to earn his first save.

The game's lone run came in the bottom of the fifth when Buckner led off with a home run shot over the left field wall.

Bryce Deatherage tossed a complete game in game two, allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits over seven innings while striking out nine.

Chris Eusay collected two hits for the Storm, while six other each tallied one.

Eusay also accounted for the team's lone RBI.

The Ichabods took the lead with a run in the top of the fourth, but the Storm had an answer as Eusay would single home Thomas to tie the game at 1-1.

WU would add a run in the top of the sixth and another in the seventh to fashion the 3-1 final score.
